Green Revolution Farmers exists to help households in Babadogo and the wider Kariobangi North area grow their own food, earn income from small plots and sacks, and build cooperative savings that keep the community resilient through dry seasons.
- 1Train. We run hands-on workshops in composting, drip irrigation, sack gardening, poultry, and pest management, taught by member-farmers and visiting agricultural extension officers.
- 2Organize. We coordinate table-banking groups, seed banks, and bulk-buying of inputs so members save money and share risk.
- 3Connect. We link farmers to county extension services, local schools running nutrition gardens, and buyers for surplus produce.
- 4Advocate. We represent urban and peri-urban farmers' interests in county forums on land use, water access, and waste management.
Our Story
Before our official registration in August 2020, Green Revolution Farmers was an informal group of neighbors in Babadogo sharing seeds, tools, and advice. As interest grew, we registered formally as a Community Based Organization with the Department of Social Development, giving the group a constitution, an elected committee, and a transparent way to grow programs and receive partner support.
